The First International Meeting on Ultra-High Gradient Whole-Body MRI convened globally recognized leaders in Houston on March 17–18, 2026, for two days of focused discussion on the future of high-performance MRI. Participants explored the engineering requirements, biological opportunities, and clinical pathways needed to realize ultra-high gradient imaging at scale.
Throughout the meeting, a clear consensus emerged among experts: the field is entering a transformative new era in medical imaging. As ultra-high gradient systems become increasingly integrated into research, the technical infrastructure is beginning to align with the scientific ambitions to probe human health at cellular level using MRI.

This ISEH endorsed meeting established a new benchmark for scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in MRI innovation. With growing international momentum, ultra-high gradient MRI is now positioned to become one of the most important enabling technologies in next-generation biomedical imaging.
